GEETHAVISHWANATHAN Fashion Designer, Image consultant& Fashion educationist and President SIFT. She is a senior leading Fashion Designer, is the proprietriex of PREYASI, a leading fashion house located at Adyar, Chennai. From her childhood she had developed a passion for fashion designing and in 1985 she has started her fashion house ‘PREYASI’ from her residence. ‘PREYASI’ caters to a clientale spread over 60 countries, including number of Indian clients.

SIFT- Srijiati Institute of Fashion Technology aims to promote the concept of fashion technology and create an opportunity for the young, energetic, enterprising, creative, youths to acquire skill and to enable them to secure job for themselves and as well as for others. In this venture we are collaborating with various reputed educational Institutions and multi-national Companies. SIFT a subsidiary of ‘PREYASI’ 27 year old Design Studio, is offering specialized training in the field of Fashion to a large number of fashion students across the globe - quality and practical training are its core values.

SIFT, Adyar will be conducting the following workshops-

Aari Embroidery- 29th and 30th july’2011- 10:30am to 1pm. Eight different applications will be taught-Mirror Work, Beads Work, Zardoshi, Applique Work, Cut Work, Zari Work, Thread Work and Sequence.
Pottery- 6th August 2011- 11am to 3pm.
Tie-Dye and Block Printing- 12th and 13th August 2011- 10:30am to 3pm.
The dye will be by using the techniques of India(Bhandini), Japan(Shibori), Africa(Adar) and Indonessia (Tritik). Block Printing will be with natural dyes and handmade blocks. Sanganir Prints techniques will be followed.
Badla Embroidery- 26th and 27th august 2011- 10:30am to 1pm.
Saree Blouse Making- 29th and 30th August 2011- 10:30am to 1pm.
